Precipitation intensity during heavy rains in various altitudes
Original language description
The main factor influencing runoff during flash floods is the precipitation intensity. Estimated returnnlevels of precipitation intensities are utilized when evaluating design discharges. Nevertheless, nbecause precipitation can be distributed very unequally during heavy rains, the hydrologicalnresponse can be significantly influenced by the temporal rainfall distribution. We develop annalgorithm which enables to classify precipitation events with respect to the course of precipitationnintensity. The aim of the study is to analyze differences among topographically heterogeneousnsites with respect to the proportion of precipitation event types.
