Modelling of viscoellastic deformation of cortical bone tissue.

  • Original language description

Exponential viscoelastic creep measures for the description of viscoelastic deformation of the bone tissue are proposed. The measure used is a two-parametric exponential time function which provides a real modelling of medium-time deformation processes and brings advantage in interpretation and generalisation of experimental results. This is documented with use of empirical data (taken from literature) of three-point bending of irregular cylinders prepared by cuting out the parts of femur. The two parameters of the creep measure characterize the capability of the fast viscoelastic reaction to the changes of load and the velocity of viscoelastic deformation increment.
