Models of human bones from free-hand ultrasound examination
Original language description
There are two main reasons to use ultrasound for development of geometric models of human organs. First, the ultrasound measurement is harmless to human body, second, the ultrasound probe is a common and cheap scanning device compared to CT or MRI. Combination of ultrasound device with capture motion system seems to be an applicable reconstruction method. The present work deals with the first experiences of using these ultrasound images for reconstruction of high quality 3D models of bones.
