Stochastic analysis of wind loaded light-frame low-rise buildings using simplified models
Original language description
Simple two- and three-dimensional non-linear numerical models of an existing light frame residential structure were subjected to the random loading that followed a pattern of a typical wind loading. The models assumed the roof diaphragm to be a rigid beam or a rigid plate and accounted for the variabilities of the non-linear stiffnesses of the individual walls, wall types and construction imperfections. Probability distribution of the imperfection parameters was assumed to be normal, but any reasonabledistribution can be used in the Monte Carlo procedure.
