On the basis of theoretical considerations, physical and numerical experiments an advanced General Lateral Pressure Theory (GLPT) is being developed at actual stage. The long-term physical experimental research of lateral pressure has been proceeding since 1996. Original stand and pressure sensors were developed for the monitoring of both normal and tangential (shear) components of lateral pressure.
