X-ray microscopy utilizing world largest photon counting detector
Original language description
Imaging of low attenuating material is very challenging using conventional X-ray imaging techniques. Nowadays photon counting detectors with large sensitivity for low photon energies provides adequate solution. A modular dual-source tomography scanner equipped with unique word largest area photon counting detector WidePIX was employed for 2D radiography scanning. Multiaxial scanner has large geometric variability; it allows scanning milimeter scale objects as well as flat objects of the area up to 1 m2.Along with the variability in magnification and tube/detector positioning, examined object can be displayed with a micrometric scale resolution even for relatively large specimens. Resultant image tiled from number of high resolution radiograms can easily reach tens or hundreds of megapixels. Inspection of the biological material scanning will be presented.
