The paper presents a methodology for investigating fracture phenomena in sandstone treatednfor consolidation. It shows the preparation of test specimens with a cyclic loading generatedncrack, control of the test specimen preparation and verification by means of x-ray microCTnand DIC techniques. Finally, the influence of various consolidation agents on the toughnessnof cracked specimens is demonstrated.
