Mechanical behavior of half lap scarf joint with oblique faces: principles and applications
Original language description
The article deals with development of a new timber joint intended for replacements of destroyednor decayed parts of timber beams. The joint uses oblique faces to transfer the loads induced by bending moment from the orientation perpendicular to grain to parallel to grain. This fact together with use of wooden pins leads to high stiffness and carrying capacity of the connection. Due to the esthetic look of the joint it is suitable for sensitive repairs of timber structures.
