Defects of surface mortar layers
Original language description
This paper briefly presents a systematic classification of defects and failures afflicting plasters, claddings and painting on plasters (including paints) and ends with a very short review of suitable investigation methods for the purpose of assessing causes. The reasons defects arise are described in brief. Data on some innovative approaches and methods of investigation, documentation and study of surface layer failures are provided. For example, naturally (environmentally) excited active thermography and the shadow moiré method for surface topography are explained and illustrated.
