Experiment of an SDF test vehicle for indirect bridge frequency measurement
Original language description
According to the idea of indirect bridge frequency measurement, a moving test vehicle can be regarded as a message receiver used to detect vibration data of the bridge that it passes over. In the present study, an experimental setup was produced for the indirect frequency measurement of a simply supported beam using a passing test vehicle with the features of adjustable frequencies and moving speeds. The test vehicle was designed as a single-degree-of-freedom system with vertical vibration and guided by a set of tensile cables that move the vehicle along the beam axis while maintaining full contact with it. The presented experimental results demonstrate that the indirect bridge inspection method is applicable to frequency monitoring of bridges.
