In recent years, in extensive, world-wide research has been done to develop information technology for use in agriculture; the long range wireless sensor network (WSN) is a creation specifically intended for agricultural use. Existing WSN solutions are in an experimental development phase. Therefore, their implementation is not possible without the specific developer?s assistance and they have a short working range, meaning that their ability to guarantee communication between sensors is only at a rangeof several tens of meter. These limitations mean that their implementation over a large area is very expensive. Realistically, WSN implementation is unthinkable without specific WSN technology that includes physical nodes, sensors, an operating system,the application programming environment and support from competent people. This paper describes new long distance RFID based technology implementation - VLIT NODE.
