An improved microwave technique for determination of moisture and salt content in building materials developed in TU Hamburg-Hamburg is described in the paper. Practical measurements using this method are performed with face brick HANSA. The moisture diffusivity is determined on the basis of measured suction curves using four methods for solving inverse problem of moisture conduction, namely Matano method, double integration method, difference method and gradient method
