    Dynamic Analysis of Plates on Elastic Foundation

    The objectiv of this paper is to describe an efficient model for dynamic analysis of large plates supported by an elastic soil medium. For the description of the dynamic behaviour of the soil medium a model based on Winkler-Pasternak assumptions has beendeveloped. This model includes beside compresion also shear deformations and it is not only able to express reality closely but it is applicable in the vicinity of the structure. The deformation properties of the subsoil at the contact with the structure are described by two frequency dependent parameters C1 (Winkler) and C2 (Pasternak). Thus the three-dimensional character of the problem can be included as well as the geometric damping in the soil medium
