Sustainable Construction through Environmentally Based Optimisation

  • Original language description

Environment-based optimisation is a process targeting reduction of negative environmental impact of products - civil engineering structures (buildings, bridges etc.). The environment-based optimisation includes three basic optimisation steps: material optimisation - shape optimisation - life-cycle optimisation. A theoretical approach to environment-based optimisation, using a multicriterion evaluation and optimisation model including sensitivity analysis, is presented and shown in a case study.
