    The Effect of Thermal and Mechanical Load on the Moisture Diffusivity of Two Carbon Fiber Reinforced Cement Composites

    The liquid moisture transport in two different types of carbon fiber reinforced cement composites is studied in dependence on thermal load up to 10000C, tensile stress up to breaking value and their combination. The preheating temperature is identified as the most important factor affecting the moisture diffusivity. The differences between the reference specimens and specimens preheated to 10000C are around two orders of magnitude. The effect of tensile load is found to be negligible compared to the reference values. Also the combined effects of tensile and thermal load do not lead to any significant differences compared to the thermally loaded specimens. The magnitude of changes in moisture diffusivity in dependence on preheating temperature is foundto be also strongly affected by the type of cement used in the particular carbon fiber reinforced cement composites
