Protection of Wood in ECS by Means of Encasement with Mathematical Decision
Original language description
Wood belongs to the materials used in the building industry although it is a combustible materiál. The load-bearing structures of bulit-in buildings, especially, those of monumental charakter, have overcome, in the course of their lifetime, one or even several fires without being seriously damaged. In contrast to steel structures, which lose the stability very quickly and are liable to collapse during fire, wood retains its load-bearing capacity in the course of fire for a long time. In addition, its gradual burning, especially at large solid profiles, enables the users to escape safety from the affected buildings. This fact is favourable from point of ecological view as well. In spite of the favourable reality, ti is necessary to analyze wood behaviour dutiny fire and to respekt its specific features.
