Modeling of Mechanical Response of Woven Composite Tubes
Original language description
The present contribution is concerned with the modeling of macroscopic-mesoscopic mechanical response of multilayered woven composite tubes made of graphite fiber tows embedded in the epoxy resin. Emphasis is given on proper geometrical representation ofthe composite geometry on meso-scale. The structural configuration of the material system suggests that a classical homogenization approach is not directly applicable, as it requires an existence of uniform fields and separation of individual scales. Tothat end, the present approach builds on the subtructuring techniques applied to the geometrical model on meso-scale thus resulting in a formulation very similar to the primary domain decomposition method. Clearly, with this approach not only the parallelization of the present problem becomes straightforward but also the nonlinear interfacial behavior between individual layers can be taken into account. The use of the present approach is advocated by systematic two-dimensional numerica.
