Triangulation of 3D Surfaces Described by Stereolithography Files

Original language description

The paper deals with generation of computational meshes over 3D surfaces described discretely by a stereolithography (STL) file. Initially, a boundary representation of the underlying model is constructed. Then smooth curves and surfaces forming this model are recovered from the STL mesh using recursive subdivision. Finally, computational mesh is generated over the recovered smooth surfaces using the advancing front technique.

Czech description

Clánek se zabývá triangulací diskrétně popsaných ploch reprezentovaných trojúhelníkovou sítí libovolné topologie. Na počátku se ze sítě na pozadí s použitím metody interpolačního dělení zrekonstruuje hladká plocha, na které se po té vygeneruje nová triangulace metodou postupující fronty.
