Non-local Damage Model Based on Displacement Averaging

Result description

Continuum damage models describe the changes of material stiffness and strength, caused by the evolution of defects, in the framework of continuum mechanics. In many materials, a fast evolution of defects leads to stress-strain laws with softening, whichcreates serious mathematical and numerical problems. To regularize the model behavior, various generalized continuum theories have been proposed. Integral-type nonlocal damage models are often based on weighted spatial averaging of a strain-like quantity.

    Modely poškození popisují změny tuhosti a pevnosti materiálu v rámci mechaniky kontinua. V řadě materiálů vede rychlý rozvoj defektů ke změkčení, z čehož plynou vážné numerické a matematické komplikace. Regularizaci modelu lze provést pomocí nejrůznějších zobecněných teorií kontinua. Nelokální modely integrálního typu jsou často založeny na váženém prostorovém průměrování deformačních veličin.
