Ekologický stav Botiče - podélný profil a sezónní změna
Original language description
This paper presents results of the benthic invertebrate monitoring along the longitudinal profile of the Botic Stream, Czech Republic, in which the extent of various disturbances (water quality, hydrological regime and ecomorphology) and their impacts onthe benthic community structure was followed from July to September 2004. Biological status of the Botic Stream reflected from the very upstream regions serious ecomorphological degradation and poor water quality. Saprobity Index showed polluted or strongly polluted water along the whole stream with a minimum seasonal change. Benthic Index of Biotic Integrity (B-IBI) indicated fair, poor or very poor conditions. Slight seasonal changes in B-IBI can be explained by changes of water quality, especially oxygen and nitrite concentrations, and of frequency of hydraulic stress caused by storm sewer discharges
