The work describes an analysis of the influence of the shape deviation from the ideal aspherical surface on the correlation coefficient value in interferometric testing of optical aspherical surfaces. Furthermore, the proposed interferometric method fortesting of aspherical surfaces using nonlinear optimization techniques and correlation analysis of the spatial distribution of the intensity in the interference field is shortly presented
