Evaluation of Combine sewer overflow using mathematical and physical modeling
Original language description
A tremendous number of CSO’s geometrical configurations were developed during last decades. Often, the geometry of CSO is given by regional development routine and varies in the wide range. In addition, the separation efficiency of suspended solidscontent can be increased using the optimal hydraulic condition and flow pattern distribution. Therefore, the authors deal with an evaluation of new prefabricated CSO unit made of fibreglass tubes in the presented study. Based on the methods of hydraulicand mathematical modeling, the unit geometry was evaluated. The optimal geometrical configurations with respect to the gravitational separation of suspended solids content and separation of floatable solids as well was found. The results show great potential of the ultrasonic Doppler anemometry in combination with numerical data analysis to visualize 2D flow field. Finally, the optimal geometrical setup of CSO could be defined.
