    Density determination using helium pycnometry

  • Original language description

    In this paper we describe density determination using helium pycnometry. The Pycnomatic ATC device is suitable for solids and powders and it is the most accurate technique for real density measurement. Helium is a noble gas with a very small dimension ofmono-atomic molecule that can permeate into even extremely narrow pores in tested samples, thus permitting determination of the real volume occupied by a material. The ratio of the dried mass and its volume gives as a result the real density of tested material.
