Optimization of consumption of structural materials represents one of the basic approaches in the development of new structural concepts, reflecting requirements of sustainable construction. On material level the reduction of consumption of primary non-renewable resources is the key environmental issue. The effective use of recycled materials as well as high performance materials is in this context essential.
