Experimental and Numerical Analysis of GFRP Reinforced Beam
Original language description
This paper provides an overview of performance, durability and applicability of Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymers (GFRP). Concrete beams reinforced with GFRP bars were casted and after 28 days tested during the experimental part of the work. For comparisonpurposes same beams reinforced with steel bars were also prepared. A non-linear computer program ATENA 3D was used to simulate the experimental measurements. It was shown that the numerical results are very close to the actual experimental results and therefore it was recommended to use this program to model similar tests in the future. Both experimental and numerical results showed that GFRP reinforced beams have higher ultimate limit state (ULS) strength at flexure in comparison with steel reinforcement. However, deflections of GFRP reinforced specimens were unacceptably high. It was therefore concluded that serviceability limit state (SLS) will govern the design of concrete elements reinforced with GFRP.

Experimentální a numerická analýza trámku s GFRP výztuží
