Reliability of Slender Columns in Compression

Alternative procedures recommended for the design of reinforced concrete slender columns are analysed on the basis of probabilistic methods of the theory of structural reliability. Special attention is paid to centrically loaded columns. Slender structural members, which lose their load-bearing capacity due to instability, should have a different reliability level than the massive ones. The global resistance factors of columns are analysed. It is shown that the application of the general non-linear method gives accurate results.

Czech description
Alternativní přístupy doporučené pro návrh železobetonových štíhlých sloupů jsou zpracovány na základě pravděpodobnostních metod teorie spolehlivosti konstrukcí. Zvláštní pozornost byla věnována dostředně zatíženým sloupům. Štíhlé sloupy, které ztrácejísvou únosnost v důsledku nestability, by měly mít nastavenou odlišnou požadovanou míru spolehlivosti než prvky masivní. Je analyzován globální součinitel únosnosti. Ukazuje se ukázáno, že použití obecné nelineární metody dává přesné výsledky.
