Report on Modelling Hillslope Scale Preferential Flow and Solute Transport
Original language description
Soil water dynamics at the experimental hillslope site is studied by means of one-dimensional dual-continuum model based on Richards' equation for vertical soil water flow and advection-dispersion equation for vertical solute transport. Stable oxygen isotope 18O, monitored at the recharge as well as discharge face of the hillslope site, is used as natural tracer. The dual-continuum approach makes it possible to analyze in detail preferential flow effects in the soil of interest during vegetation season.
