Preventive Evaluation of Landscape Characteristics and Scenery as a Basis for Regulating Construction in Protected Areas
Original language description
In protected areas, such as Protected Landscape Areas (PLA) or Nature Parks, nature preservation authorities often consider the influence of proposed projects on the characteristic scenery of the landscape. Preventive evaluation of landscape scenery maybe considered a good basis for their decision-making and for land use planning (Vorel et al., 2008). A Preventive Evaluation of the Landscape Scenery of PLA Český les (Atelier V, 2007) is presented as an example of a possible nuanced approach to regulating construction on the basis of spatial and characteristic feature differentiation of the area. In this example, protective measures are set on three levels, for landscape complexes, for visually open landscape segments, and for individual settlements. This approach takes the diversity of such areas into account and sets protective measures for truly identifiable values.
