New Extended Approach to Borehole Dilatometer Tests Back Analysis
Original language description
We propose a new approach to dilatometer measurements evaluation. Dilatometer measurements in boreholes with cylindrical probe are frequently used as one method of rock massif deformation properties characteristics in geotechnical investigation in tunnelling. In the standard evaluation linear elastic material with infinite deformation zone is assumed. The proposed evaluation is based on analytical solution, which describes the stress state around the borehole with respect to plastic radius and range ofdeformation zone. The new approach is presented with use of data measured during the geotechnical investigation for Brenner Base Tunnel (Austria / Italy). A parametric study was carried out in order to estimate the range of plastic radius and deformationzone extent.
