The effect of the flood in 2002 on moisture, salinity and microflora of the sandstone blocks of Charles Bridge in Prague
Original language description
The flood in 2002 affected the salinity and microflora of surfaře layers of the sandstone blocks of Charles Bridge in Prague. The microbial decomposition of the organic contaminants cause a significant decrease of pH value which resulted in the chemicaldenitrification and, consequently, also in the microbial denitrification of nitrites and nitrateson the sandstone block surface.
