Carbonation of Hardened Cement Paste Due to Radiation
Original language description
Hardened cement paste (HCP) has been exposed to ? irradiation up to dose 10 MGy. Hardness of the HCP and content of calcite in the HCP have been studied depending on the level of irradiation changes. Results show that both qualities increase with dose ofirradiation which supports hypothesis that besides of natural carbonation there takes part also carbonation due to irradiation. Effect of gamma irradiation on the strength of concrete is discussed.
