What is the role of the worst scenario method in solving problems with uncertain input data?
Original language description
A state problem dependent on input parameters is considered. Its solution is evaluated by a criterion functional. As a consequence, the criterion functional values are also dependent on the values of the parameters entering the state problem. The valuesof the input parameters belong to an admissible set. In the worst scenario method (WSM), the maximum and the minimum of the criterion functional are to be determined among admissible inputs. It is shown that this WSM approach is an integral part of otheruncertain data problems where the input values are weighted; fuzzy set theory and the Dempster-Shafer theory serve as examples.
