Original language description
The basilica st. Jiri on Prague Castle was founded in 920. Some walls and specially north tower are deflected from vertical line. The reasons and beginning of fault genesis have not been known yet. We have some ideas - tower weakening by the door opening, influence of inside vault over middle navy, deteriorated foundation conditions. The results obtained from numerical model show that every mentioned reason differently contributed to the deflection of the tower.
