A Transient Method for Determination of Water Vapour Diffusion Coefficient of Building Materials as Function of Relative Humidity
Original language description
A new transient method that makes it possible to determine the water vapour diffusion coefficient versus relative humidity function during a single experiment is proposed. The basic idea of the method consists in exposing a material specimen to the difference climate conditions concerning relative humidity and monitoring the relative humidity field in the specimen. In the subsequent inverse analysis of measured relative humidity profiles the Boltzmann-Matano treatment is used. The transient method is then tested by the laboratory measurements on autoclaved aerated concrete. The determination of diffusion coefficient by standard steady-state cup method is done as well. Finally, the measured results are compared.
