Longitudinal Shear in Partially Encased Composite Steel and Concrete I Member
Original language description
The paper comprises evaluation of experimental results covering resistance of headed studs with diameters of 10 and 13 mm being outside the limitation of the current design code. The experimental investigation is commented with results of push-out testshaving studs with 10 and 13 mm diameters and various qualities of concrete part. The results are given in the form of design characteristics, i.e. design and characteristic resistances of the welded studs, slip capacities, and force-slip diagrams. The second part of the paper describes numerical investigation of a composite partially encased member under combined bending and axial force, in which results of the above described tests are employed. Non-linear behaviour of such beam column having small studs welded to its web is analysed using commercial finite element software ANSYS.
