    In modern design of structures such as bridges and civil structures, tension components are used more and more often and they are subjected to traffic and wind loads. These are major factors causing high cycle fatigue. Then in some cases fatigue cracks may cause collapse of part or whole structure. On the basis of tests on Macalloy tension bar systems which were carried out in past there was remarked that the weakest part of system is a coupler. Turnbuckle - related component of coupler with similar detailing - is essential for prestressing tension bar system. The first test on one sample of turnbuckle Macalloy M24 to verify its fatigue resistance is in progress.
