    Extradosed structures achieve increased effects of prestressing (especially bending moments) thanks to the increased eccentricity of prestressing tendons, lead even out of the depth of the cross section. Such structures may represent a convenient solution especially in the cases of limitted depth of the cross section and/or of restricted height of structural elements placed above the level of the bridge deck.
