Measurements of Forces in Cable Membrane Structures
Original language description
A complex system of equipment and devices for evaluation of stresses in the structural elementsof cable-membrane structures with an accuracy within 5% has been created. A device for determination of the force in the anchorage cable of the membrane has been created. The value of the axial force is evaluated based on the relationship between the axial load, the transversal deflection and the corresponding force. This relationship is also influenced by the stiffness of the investigated cable and the stiffness of the connection between the cable and the membrane. The second order theory is used for nondestructive measurement. If the cable is considered as perfectly flexible, then the axial force can be calculated from the measured transverse displacementsand the corresponding force. Further, the device for determination of the force in the membrane has been developed. This device demarcates the area on the membrane. The value of the membrane loading is evaluated based on the relationship
