Push out test of the alternative shear connector for composite bidge decks
Original language description
The research is concerned with the composite plate used as a bridge deck. It is focused on shear connectors as members which are transferring the shear forces arising on the steel-concrete interface. The appropriate shear connection is commonly ensured by welded headed studs or due to perforated shear connectors welded on the top of the steel plate in some places. This work tries to find an alternative shear connector which would be able to be used instead of studs. The idea is based on utilization of the welded modified common concrete squared reinforcement mesh which is welded in some places to the steel plate. The reinforcement mesh is suitable curved before welding. This article describes preparations for push out experiments of the alternative shear connector.
