Comparison of methods for analysis of edge-supported slabs
Original language description
The paper deals with comparison of methods for design of reinforced concrete edge supported slabs in terms of resistance to bending. The main task is to calculate the distribution of internal forces (bending moments) in the structure. Manual calculations(elastic and plastic analysis) and general method based on the principle of finite elements were chosen to compare. The methods were applied to continuous reinforced concrete slab, supported by rigid beams. Attention is paid not only to design of the centre of the plates, but mainly to state of stress near the beams and corners of the plates. The results are compared not only in terms of precision of the calculation, but also in terms of its effectiveness, difficulty of evaluation results and their using.
