Interaction of Cement with Fly Ash at the Micro Level

  • Original language description

Currently, the trend in the world is to replace cement in concrete mixtures with more ash. Fly ash is primarily waste from the combustion of coal in thermal power plants and is therefore an inexpensive raw material. Fly ash is added to the blended cements for decades. However, the trend is to replace 30 percent or more cement. To the resulting mixture is of course necessary to the analyzes of the material and mechanical properties. This paper brings through microscopic analysis of bond between the cement and fly ash. There is also shown the effect of this replacement on the compressive strength resulting mixture.
