    Osteons response to mechanical effects

  • Original language description

Relating the orientation of osteon collagen fibres to the biomechanical stimulus has been a challenging task (up to now). The objective of our work was to verify by means of Finite Element Analyses (FEM) the combinations of mechanical effects contributing to the appearance of experimentally verified (see above) lamellar structures.
