Numerical modelling of the Brusnice tunnel
Original language description
The Brusnice tunnel is a part of the Blanka tunnel section. The mined section of the tunnel is about 550 m long, the tunnel has two tubes with the cross-sections of about 172 m2, the tubes are connected by two cross-passages. All excavations were realised using NATM. The tunnel was driven through the rock mass formed by the Prague Ordovician clayey shale, under rock overburden with a variable depth. The excavation of the northern tunnel tube (NTT) commenced from the Myslbekova portal in October 2009, using a horizontal sequencing (top heading, bench and invert). The excavation of the southern tunnel tube (STT) started at a time lag of three months. Taking into account results of the site investigation and the fact that a Baroque fortification wall wasto be passed under, vertical tunnel face sequencing was selected (side drifts and central pillar). Because of the improvement in the geological conditions, the STT excavation sequencing was changed to the horizontal system, after completi
