Municipal Solid Waste Incineration materials as partial Portland cement replacement in concrete mix design
Original language description
The reuse of mixed fly ash (MFA) coming from different parts of municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) process as partial replacement of Portland cement in cement mortar mix design is researched in the paper. In order to evaluate the effect of MFA admixture on properties of cement mortar, the reference cement mortar without MFA is studied as well. For the applied MFA, the particle size distribution is studied by laser diffraction method. Basic material properties of cement mortars, namely the bulk density, matrix density, and total open porosity are measured using gravimetric method combined with helium pycnometry. The influence of MFA admixture on mechanical performance of the developed mortars is evaluated by measurement of compressive strength, bending strength and dynamic Young?s modulus that is accessed by a resonance method. Frost resistance is measured up to 150 freezing/thawing cycles. Since the durability of building materials is besides the other harmful effects related to
