Climate change and water balance of spruce stands in the Jizera Mountains
Original language description
The aim of this paper is to estimate effects of changing climate on water balance in a small headwater catchment (the Jizera Mountains, Czech Republic), forested by spruce stands (Picea abies). The prediction of a future climate (2071-2100) is based on two climate scenarios developed within the PRUDENCE project. Then, potential changes in the hydrological regime were simulated by the water balance model WASMOD. The outcomes of this study show the significant reduction in water yield, as well as the shift in seasonal run-off, namely by changes in the accumulation and melt of snow.
