Analysis of the Thermal Behavior of Mass Concrete Based on Semi-Adiabatic Temperature Measurements
Original language description
The prediction of mass concrete thermal behavior is usually based on FEM analysis in combination with adiabatic measurements of cement hydration. Because adiabatic measurements are costly, this work proposes an alternative solution; in particular, a low-cost semi-adiabatic calorimeter. The measurements from this setup are used to adjust a hydration model. The adjusted model is used as basis to predict the thermal behavior of a 511m3 mass concrete foundation block, and the predicted results are comparedto real scale measurements for validation.
