Performance analysis of fuzzy-genetic system applied to cabled-trusses optimization
Original language description
This paper presents a performance analysis of a fuzzy-genetic system applied to structural optimization. The optimization is based on ground structure approach, nonlinear finite element analysis, genetic algorithm, and fuzzy logic. The latter allows forincluding expertise in the genetic search to classify and filter individuals with low survival possibility (sp) based on a user-defined threshold value (Spt). The analysis investigates the influence of the fuzzy system on the computational performance ofthe optimization method. For that, the system was applied to ground structures with 10 elements for 0%<Spt<100%, and the computational cost results were compared by ANOVA test. In the studied case, it was found that Spt=60% is the optimum result.
