Design of Three-Dimensional Nailing Plates
Original language description
The timber connections using thin-walled metal elements gradually supplant traditional carpentry joints. Their main advantage is that they do not weaken the connected timber elements. Other advantages include the possibility of in-situ implementing and possibility of direct connection of timber elements to steel and concrete structures. The main disadvantage of designing timber connections using thin-walled metal elements is an insufficient support in European Standards. Because of it, it is not possible to design these elements competitively. The aim of this work is to design and investigate metal works used in timber engineering with connectors placed closer to each other than according to the raster from Eurocode 5. This design is based on Annex D of Eurocode 0, which allows designing based on experiments.
