Natural Ventilation of the Double Transparent Facade Cavity
Original language description
The modelling and simulation of the double façade transparent cavity is a complicated task. There are a lot of different elements which have influence over the function of the cavity. One important task is how the double façade transparent cavity is participated on the HVAC strategy. There is origin and destination of the air inside the cavity, natural/mechanical/fan supported ventilation and night cooling/venting. The dynamics of air movement in the cavity of double transparent façade with natural supported ventilation is based on natural convection especially on micro pressure caused by the gradient of temperature inside the cavity. In the summer night cavity is used for night pre-cooling. Indoor façade is open so hot air from the building could flowthrough the cavity out through the openings in the outdoor façade. Gradient of temperature causes hot air to rise up and cool air replaces that. Cool night air accumulates in the building structure and reduces the need for mechanical day
