Original language description
The purpose of the paper is to summarize and compare methods which are used for the prediction of the insertion loss of an acoustic screen (or rather the noise barrier). The paper is focused on the problem of the sound wave diffraction. Sample situationwhich contained an acoustic screen with various heights was modelled. The insertion loss was calculated for several frequencies both with in practice commonly used methods (NMPB-Routes-1996, Harmonoise/Deygout and formula of Kurze & Anderson) and with numerical modelling done by the boundary element method (the BEM). Results of the BEM were fitted with a logarithmic curve. Paired difference tests were performed and correlation coefficients were calculated among obtained sets of data. Results of the calculations processed with different methods showed significant differences and high dependency.
